FIFA bans former top official Markus Kattner for 10 years

Soccer’s world governing physique FIFA has banned Markus Kattner, a former main official within the Zurich organisation, for 10 years and has fined him a million Swiss francs ($1.5 million) after a probe into bonus funds.

“The adjudicatory chamber of the unbiased Ethics Committee has discovered Markus Kattner, former FIFA Deputy Secretary Normal and Performing Secretary Normal, responsible of conflicts of curiosity and having abused his place, in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics,” FIFA stated in a press release on Tuesday.

“The investigation into Mr Kattner coated numerous fees regarding bonus funds in relation to FIFA competitions that have been paid to high FIFA administration officers (together with Mr Kattner), numerous amendments to and extensions of employment contracts, reimbursement of personal authorized prices, and Mr Kattner’s duties as an official.”

FIFA stated in June 2016 that an inner investigation revealed that Kattner, FIFA’s former Secretary Normal Jerome Valcke and the organisation’s ex-President Sepp Blatter had obtained 79 million Swiss francs in compensation over 5 years, calling them “huge payouts”.
